self monitoring

LI:To  self monitor our understanding of a text. This week we did self monitoring again because some people still don't use self monitoring.  some from Percy Jackson had to go with a person from Thor. They were reading about Amelia Earhart  they had to tell there partner what they don't know. Harry Vader has to work with someone from Maleficent.They red about a NZ skier for the Pyongyang Paralympics.

kiwi can

LI:To learn what to do when some is upset.
This week LS1 group B went to kiwi can. This week we have a new topic, conflict resolution.Conflict means argument, and resolutions  means solving problem. Our energiser was 21. We play this game by trowing a ball around a circle and while we are doing that everyone else were counting up to 21. When we reach 21 the person with the ball is out.Our lesson was called guess the emotions. We went into 4 groups the person in the fronts of the group has to guess the emotions. The other people in the group can help by acting it out. The emotion is written on the bored the person in front is not allowed to see the bored.You were not allowed to say it. Last we played GKQ. Our buzzer was hello.

Organising drive

LI:To organize drive. Today for cyber smart we had to file our dlo's  in n the right folders like if itn was something to do with reading you put it in your reading folder.We did it by pressing on the DLO and dragging it ina folder.

Duffy assembly

This week we had our Duffy assembly. Our guests today for Duffy assembly was Matt and Tayla. They came to our school to talk about why it is importent to read books. First Tayla talked about her self. Tayla  was a international BMX rider. She started BMX riding when she was six she got inspired from reading news papers about her mum, her mum was a BMX rider.  She was chosen to race around the world. In that experience she got to go in new country. Her favourite was Thailand because she loved Asian food and she liked elephants, she got to see the Eiffel tower in Paris.She then quited to be an BMX rider and became an accontent, commentator, and interviewer. Taylas highest place in BMX is 2nd. She has lots of trophy's. Tayla also played touch with Matt. Matt plays for the Blues in rugby. He also play's for Melbourne storms.Matts wants to become a P.E. teacher and Tayla wants to become a lawyer but not alway she wants to use that for sports. Tayla  came to our class and tryed the minute to win it challenges with us.

kiwi sport

LI:To bat from some one who pitches the ball. This week was our last week of soft ball. On we first talked about how we could bat. Then Ashley made us into groups If she said fielding then you grab a glove or if she said to you bating you make a line behind the black bag. I was first fielding. This game is closer game to softball then last week because this week Ashley pitched the ball to us three times. We had two turns at each batting and fielding.

Chromebook shortcuts

LI:To learn and use core digital device skills.
This for cyber smart we learned about some shortcuts for our Chromebooks. We learned it by making a google slide that had some shortcuts for us to learn. For example Ctrl,C the Ctrl V the copy a text then it puts that were ever you Ctrl V.


LI:To play cricket
On Wednesday Some people from PBS went to compete in  cricket. I was in the year six team. I captain for the day was Viliami. Each team had a two bats, a match ball, and a tennis ball. Our first game started at 10:30 before that we practice our bowling. The our first game was Point England red. We won our first game. Then our second game was against my old school   Tamaki primary. The game was close but we won. Our third game was against Point England black we were first bating They had great bowlers but we still batted most of them. When it was our turn to bowl I bowled one of the person out. Our last game was against Stonefield the had good bowlers and batter.But I still hit a four.

Figurative Language

LI:To learn about Figurative Language.
This week for writing we looked at figurative language.There are five types of figurative language,

  • personification - giving human or animal abilities to objects.
  • alliteration - starting words with the same sound or letter.
  • idiom - a non literal description
  • simile - comparing using as or like.
  • metaphor.

Team motto

L.I: Is to make a motto for our team. This week we did an inquiry session. This weeks inquiry's session was all about making a motto for our team we worked together so we could make a motto but first we had to find other category's motto after that we made our own motto and our motto is, there is no I in a team.

self Monitoring

LI:To self monitor.
This week for reading we focused on  a strategy called self monitoring. Self monitoring mean when you understand that you don't understand a word or a sentence.I learned it by reading a book about  water I found word that i didn't know.

place value

LI:To learned the 1 for 10 and 10 for 1.
I learned to how to do 1 for 10 10 for 1. That means so if you had a 10 dollar note and the ice cream man only takes coins so one ten note 10 coins is is one ten dollar note.

Kiwi sport

LI:To Pitch,Field, and Bat.

This week for kiwi sport our teacher was Ash. We played a game similar to a real softball match we played scatter ball with some softball rules like if the batter bats the ball high and the fielder cached the ball in the air the batter is out.But still if if we batted we had to bat off the T next week people will pitch. The fielders had to ware gloves.


LI:To learn to partner numbers
For prodigy I am a level 54. In order to level up we have to win battles with creatures. On the way we can capture the creatures to make them your pets.My highest level of my pets is 15.When can hit the creatures by solving a maths equations then you can hit them.

Team logo

LI:To create a logo for our team.This for inquiry we started on making a Logo for our groups in my group we have Matthew,Oscar, and Alice. But the teams are for a reason it is for the LS1 Olympics.Mr O and Mr Wong got materials for the LS1 Olympics. We made a logo about our favourite sports and other things we like to do.Our name is M,O,M,A standing for Mojtaba,Oscar,Matthew,Alice. The colours represents the colour of our country The Yellow stands for Niuean , The blue stand for New Zealand, and the red stand for Afghani.

Art intensive week

LI:To write a recount about art week

This week for writing we had write a recount about art week.We had to add the structure of a recount TREE (Title,Reveal,Event,Ending,) It also had to have the language features. Like past tense.

Pop Art

Last week on Tuesday LS1 started to make a special piece of art. That was called Pop art. We looked at Pop art and at a famous pop artist named Andy Warhol. He drew lots photos of celebrities like michael jackson. We were going to be greatest artist ever with these skills.

First we got into groups of three people. Then we had to make a poster that had to have information about Andy Warhol and Pop art. After that we started to make our first step which was to go over the lines of our pictures with a blue pen. After one person finished that step Mr O stopped everyone  which was to go by a window and turn your photo around and at the back we had to trace the lines that we went over with the blue pen but with big fat lines with a pencil.I first just went over it then I made them big and fat and dark lines.

After learning about the first & second steps we learned the third one was to stick or picture to a piece of paper then we had to go over the outlines again but this time with a different colour pen. this time we had to go hard not hard enough to go through the paper. Because if we didn't we would have to start again from the start.But luckily I didn't have to start again.The third step was to get one light coloured pastel and pastel the parts that are white.I chose blue. Then we did our 4th step which was to start to paint the black space in our picture black.The final step was to go over the outlines with vivid.Then we blogged it.

Art intensive week was a really fun I really enjoyed it. Some steps were hard and some were easy.I felt like younger version of Andy Warhol.They looked so cool.

Kiwi can

LI:To learn to try everything.
This week for kiwi can our energiser was to called rock paper scissors. So in this game we had to find a partner and play rock paper scissors the loser had to go in the back and be cheering the the winner. And if your partner that won you lost to a another person we both have to go in the back of his or her back and cheer him or her. Our lesson was about trying everything. We had to talk about why it is good to try everything and why it bad.The game we played for our lesson was called charades. In this game we had to go in group one or two or three I was in group two.We had to chose one person from your group first I went up it was only a practice round. The point of the game was to try everything no matter how hard it is. Lastly we had to do GKQ we went into four groups. Ever group had a different buzzer.

This week for reading we had to look at the strategy predicting.Predicting is when you guess what is going to happens in the book . Like when you look at a picture in a book and guess what I going to happens.I learned it by watching a video about how to make predictions and an example.

this week for reading we had to make a poster about how to activate our prior knowledge.I learned it by writing what we know about the census and then we had to find out what strategies we used to do that some people thought it was summery but it was activating prior knowledge.

This week we made a piece of art that is pop art which means popular art. Andy Warhol is famous pop artist..we learned it first finding out what does pop art means the we started to follow instruction to make these arts. It is really easy to make a piece of pop art.

Structure and language comments

LI:To identify the features of a recount
This week for writing we had to comment on our little boat recount. We had to find  the language features on our recount and comment on them to show what is what.There is 3 kinds of language feature first person. First person means a word that describes you in the recount for an example "I" I is a first person. We had to highlight it and comment on it if it was first person  we had to write first person. If it was past tense then highlight a word that is past tense then say past tense on the comment. If it was time connectives like later if it was then we have to comment time connective.

LI:To solve problems by partnering numbers.

This week for maths we had to make a DLO (Digital Learning Object) to show how we could solve equations by partnering numbers.I learned it by having examples of how we could solve the equations for example 6+87=93 how will i will show you how.87+3=90 we get the three from 6 so 6-3=3 then 90+3=93.

Andy Warthol/ Pop art

LI:To learn about Pop Art .LI:To learn about Andy Warhol. We had to work in groups of 3 people for the whole week and we had to make a poster about Pop Art and Andy Warhol with the three people that we were going to work with.I worked with Matthew and Chris we made A poster about Andy Warhol.I learned it by researching about Andy Warhol and pop art to make a poster about Andy Warhol and Pop Art.

LI:To learn what a good and bad leader is
This week  For kiwi can we had a new topic it was leadership.Leader means when a person in your team or group. The person that tells you what to do and encouraging you. We looked at what a bad and a good leader is.Our energiser was called hammer. We had to find a partner.With your hands you had to make a fist and put them on top of one and a another. When Miss Lilly said  up if she said up the the persons fist that is at the bottom can goon the top and if she said down the person fist on the top  has to  put I at the bottom and if she says hammer! the person fist at the top had to smash there fist on top of the other persons fist if the person that was successful would find another partner and play with him or he.or lesson was called copy me in copy me we had to make three groups the person in the front was the leader. Miss Lily, Mr Mat, Mr O. Gave each group the same action then they tapped the person in front of them on there should and showed the action the team that at the end got the move right had won.


LI:To learn to pitch. This week for kiwi sport (Softball) we learned to pitch.First we learned to how to flick the ball.The we learned the rock star kind of way to pitch.We had to do the rock star backward and once the ball is by your knees you had to flick the ball to your partner. After that we learned to do the L K backwards rock star then flick.

LI:To learn how to bat in softball

This week for kiwi sport we learned how to bat in softball  we learned by first putting your throwing hand on top and your weak hand under and making your small knuckles aliened and bat on throwing shoulder and bang hit the ball.After that we played a game that two teams one team was bating and the other was trying put the balls on the cones if you were bating you had two balls to bat. Know one was allowed to move until the batter bats both of the balls then the batter has to let go of the bat and run around from base to base.
